This show has taken over my brain for the past four weeks. I had never heard of the book series until I started watching it. I am now obsessed! I watched the first four episodes, then immediately rewatched them, and I finally just finished the show a few days ago. I drug it out because I didn’t want it to end!
I absolutely love the characters. I love Hannah and that she is real. She was sexually assaulted and the show handles it beautifully. It shows the real pain and triggers that can occur afterwards. Her and her best friend Allie are such great friends. They are there for each other the entire time no matter what. They hype each other up and show what true female friendships should be.
Garrett is also super real. His father being a hockey star and all that pressure on him shows. His father being abusive and the anger Garrett has is also super real. I absolutely love the playlist for the entire show. I listen to it on repeat.
I really didn’t like Justin. I didn’t find him attractive or understand why Hannah was into him. He was pretty flat the whole show for me. Garrett being a playboy at first and then reforming into actually liking Hannah was *chef’s kiss*. I think it’s hilarious she saw him naked at the beginning. It’s so cute how he loves her singing and how hearing her sing makes him do better in hockey and grounds him.
I love that he calls her Wellsy. It’s such a jock thing to do. The men in this show are so kind and thoughtful. They understand she doesn’t want to drink alcohol at parties, they want to make sure she is pleasured too, and they are all green flags.
I really like Garrett, I’d have to put John Logan at 2nd (although I love that he fixes things around the house), then Dean 3rd and Tucker 4th.
The final episode had me crying every few minutes from how cute it was. Hannah feeling like it’s her fault for her assault is very relatable.
I am so obsessed I had to get my own Garrett Graham jersey!
I can’t wait for the next season. I really like Dean and Allie together, and want to see what the drama is with the new guy.
I really like John Logan. I loved that he was the captain at the end, and that Hannah did the showcase.
